Title page for the Offenburger Tageblatt
Published on 09. October 2012
Every day we are provided with information through a variety of media. Information that has different relevance for us: Some change our lives, some we do not perceive at all. In the constant stream of impressions one message displaces the other, they overlap and intermingle, extinguish each other or increase their value. Thus, every reader/media user creates his own image of the world.
The source material of the draft is the title page of the Offenburger Tageblatt itself. The article consists of printing the title pages of the newspaper editions preceding the print date one above the other. The "accidental image" created by the overlapping of the title pages thematizes the emergence of history through the accumulation of stories. The newspaper is shown as a medium that produces history.
